- I am not a consultant, although I have a few friends who are.
- If you believe that LLR and companies of this nature are all nothing more than pyramid schemes, I will most likely not change your mind with this post. I'm not sure what to tell you other than that I believe some direct marketing companies are shady, their practices questionable, and their recruiting strategies, predatory in nature. I also believe others offer a fully transparent and fun way for their consultants to make some money selling a product they love. I can't speak for LLR's business practices as I'm not a consultant. My friends who are consultants in DMs, including LLR, don't at all strike me as victims, and, in fact, are having the time of their lives.
- I'm sure there are many great men selling products as part of DMs, but I'm focusing in on the women who are, who I believe make up the majority of consultants.
- If you've tried the product and didn't enjoy it or didn't find it worth the money, I will probably not change your mind, but I applaud you for trying something before judging it.
-This is my experience and my experience alone, about everything from the postpartum days, to my thoughts on LLR. Your experience, undoubtedly was different, or maybe contains shades of similarity, but nevertheless, I can only speak for myself.
- I am not a paid spokesperson for LLR but one time, I did win some free clothes by posting a funny Morgan Freeman meme on a consultant's Facebook page...
Ok, now that we got that out of the way...
I was pregnant for most of 2016 at a time when my friends had caught the LLR fever big time. I was invited to several Facebook and in-home parties, but declined. Buying clothes while pregnant didn't sound like the most fun thing ever. I promised my friends that I'd look into it once baby arrived, and true to my word, in my first month post-partum, I accepted an invitation to shop an online boutique. I bought 1 pair of leggings to see what the insanity was all about. They were comfy, colorful and fun to wear (they are often compared to "butter" for how soft they are, hence the title of this blog). I wore them at Thanksgiving and was glad that I had found something besides maternity pants to wear that fit nicely and didn't make me obsess over my post-partum belly- a belly had that grown and delivered three beautiful boys but was certainly worse for the wear. At 37, things don't always bounce back and no matter what, your body is forever changed by this miraculous and beautiful thing that's just happened to it. But the miracle and the beauty of it all is quickly lost when you feel flabby and out of shape and when the weight just isn't coming off in spite of your best efforts. And let's be honest, sometimes in spite of your most mediocre efforts because when you're exhausted, hormonal, and navigating postpartum bouts of baby blues or depression, sometimes your weight is the last thing you should be thinking about and questions about your overall wellbeing should revolve around more than just what a scale says.
Many of my friends and myself included, wore maternity clothing long after the maternity leave was over, not because we wanted to, but because so many of us didn't see many viable options for those transition months. And as a postpartum mom who is already genetically predisposed to a pear shape, I can tell you, unequivocally, that clothing designers have not only let me down, they have forgotten all about me. I should mention here that LLR offers sizes from XXS to 3xl so a wide variety of women can and do wear the clothing, not just my pear sisters. Where you at, pear sisters? I like you and I cannot lie.

Shortly after that first purchase of leggings, I stumbled upon a consultant on Facebook who was going out of business and liquidating her inventory at a pretty great % off. I saw this as a good opportunity to try a variety of styles to see what I liked at a pretty low cost. When those colorful packages arrived it was fun! I'm sure my husband and mail lady just had to laugh and shake their heads at the array of bright mailers stuffed with shirts, skirts and dresses that kept making their way to our doorstep, but it was like Christmas! Ok, it actually was Christmas at the time, but the gifts were from me and for me, my favorite kind of gift ;)
Each mailer contained a business card and sometimes something extra- hair ties, candy, thank you notes, and jewelry were all little extras I'd find in my packages. The consultants with whom I had discussed going back to work, sent me messages of encouragement, assuring me that I'd be amazing and look amazing. The nice college-aged kid who rings me up at Target has never offered such affirmations.
I decided that since it had been years since I really bought new clothes for myself, I would purchase a brand new wardrobe, almost exclusively from LLR consultants. I wanted my working mom clothing to be a show of support to the women working hard, selling these clothes from their homes, hoping to gain some financial independence and do something that is just for themselves. It also helped that I really loved the clothes.
My motivation for doing this was a personal one. I was raised by a young stay at home mom who was brilliant, creative, and charming. It's hard enough being a stay at home mom today, but imagine doing it in the 80s with no social media, no texts from friends and a lot of isolation from people your own age. My dad worked out of town so my mom was with her gaggle of young kids solo for most of the day, into the evenings. When I was in elementary school she started selling Princess House crystal, doing in-home parties to the absolute delight of her customers. She was successful and had so much fun with it and if the demands of home weren't too great she'd probably have been their top saleswoman. I know those parties were a way for her to be independent, be social, and be herself, not her "mom" self, her own self. When I wear my "Nicoles", "Carlys", or "Irmas" to work and people tell me that I look great, I send a tip of my hat to the woman who bought, displayed, packaged, and mailed me that particular item of clothing. I think of my mom and it always makes me smile.
Fancy Princess House crystal mugs; an absolute staple of my childhood |
If butter pants ain't your thing, I get it, (more for the rest of us... but I get it). I do hope if you're reading this, that you find some way to support women-owned or operated businesses, whether they're DMsor LLCs, franchises or small start-ups. Women, statistically still get paid less than men and only 5% of the S&P 500 companies have women as their CEOs, so we're not only underpaid, we're underrepresented in business. Women are still fighting to be heard, to be seen, and to be taken seriously. So here is my simple request, and it's not to beg you to try LuLaRoe. It's to pause the next time you're blasted on Facebook with party invites for makeup, clothing, books, nail stickers, lip gloss, or bags. Just pause and consider the woman behind the invite. She could be a single and savvy hobbyist who's hustling to make some extra cash, but in my circle, more often than not, she's a mom who is involved in a business that speaks to the interests and passions she has outside of motherhood. She's probably tweaking her Facebook page after the kids go to bed. She's selecting her favorite font for her business cards, and the clip art that totally speaks to the brand she's creating for herself. She's responding to emails and writing thank you notes while her kids watch Daniel Tiger and she's probably wondering if she's struck the right balance. I hope she's having fun with it and flexing talents that she might not be flexing in other aspects of her life. She's a lot like me, even though she works in her home and I work outside of mine. She's hardworking, talented and probably really tired of having to defend her business to people who are concerned she's entrenched in a scheme. So feel free to turn off the notifications for that party or group, but I'd encourage you to send her a quick note and just say "Hey, I don't know how you do it all, but I love that you're having fun with this and I support you 100%". Because regardless of whether her business is a wild success or not, she needs your support.
Thanks to the ladies around the country who have given me a pep in my step and some cool new clothes.
I support you 100%.
I have a list of consultants who I love to work with, who are responsive, hardworking, and absolutely incredible women, let me know if you need a recommendation :)
Thank you. Seriously. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! Hug/high five/hat tip
DeleteReally nice article!!! I am addicted!! Lol my pocket book keeps saying no... but my addiction keeps saying oh yeah!!😊😜. You are beautiful!!
DeleteI am a LuLaRoe consultant and this made me tear up... to know how beautiful and comfortable you felt, that makes my heart sing! Thank you for this article. Thank you for taking the time to compose it. you are amazing!!

As a consultant struggling with the negativity, I thank you for writing this. We also have very similar story, I was pregnant 2016 and WISH I had found LulaRoe while pregnant! My sweet miracle baby is now 9, almost 10 months and I'm also 37 :)
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for writing This! As a consultant, I've struggled recently with the negativity. We have a similar story, I was pregnant through May of 2016 and WISH I had found LulaRoe while pregnant, not after! My sweet miracle baby is 9, almost 10 months old and I'm also 37 😍😍
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's my post-partum hormones, but this put a tear in my eye. This is so similar to my journey finding LuLaRoe just after my first was born. I fell in love with the clothes and my desire to help other women feel the same way drove my decision to become a consultant. Thank you for sharing this! I'm so glad this movement and the people in it made you feel so great!
ReplyDeleteDing ding ding! You nailed it! I also just had baby #2 in September and went to first llr party 1 week later. I have since bought a bunch of new things. Yes to help me feel better while I still have this baby pooch. I am also a SAHM with my own little sewing buisness. I struggle just to find time to do that. Not as much time as I had thought.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this blog and for putting some much needed positivity out in the world! I, like you, was pregnant in 2013 and was feeling very down about myself and the changes in my body after I had my baby. I felt like "just a mom" and certainly didn't feel sexy or pretty anymore because I simply didn't have time to do anything to make myself feel that way! I was introduced to LuLaRoe and all of that changed and I got my self confidence back, I felt sexy again when I went out on date night, I felt pretty and like a good example for my daughter! I felt so good in my new clothes I took the plunge last year and became a consultant and now my absolute favorite part of my business is helping other women who feel that way feel like the million bucks that they are. So thank you again for this blog post....it is so appreciated.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this positive article about LuLaRoe! It is wonderful to see that you truly get what is so special about this company. From the incredible clothes to the special opportunities they offer their consultants! I am so proud and happy to be a part of the LuLaRoe world!
ReplyDeleteI love this and I love your entire outlook! The company has been life changing for me and my husband! I love the clothing and I love the opportunity it has given us to make more money and to get ahead in life. I no longer hate getting dressed in the morning. I have clothes that I love and that look flattering. This company has given me the chance to share that feeling with other women who struggle with their self esteem. I used to cry when getting dressed to go anywhere. Nothing fit and I always felt out of place in my own clothes. Thank you for sharing the LuLaLove!
ReplyDeleteThank you! As a consultant, reading the testaments from you and other customers who've enjoyed newfound confidence and beauty thanks to these beautiful and comfortable clothes is the best reward! I struggled with self confidence post baby and felt reawakened when I discovered LuLaRoe. Thank you for your support and heartfelt words. ❤

Thank you! As a consultant, hearing about your renewed self confidence and sense of beauty is the best reward. I too struggled with depression and self confidence Post partum and am so appreciative for the awakening and sense of purpose Ariel had given me. Thank you for so eloquently sharing your experience. Your vibe attracts your tribe, and you are in the company of some amazing women from what I can see in these comments. ❤

You rock girl!! Thank you so much for the kind, and oh so true words! This company has changed my life! It has made me a better mom, wife, friend, daughter and teacher. We appreciate your recognition of hard work ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love our clothes and have never had so much fun!!! Love being able to homeschool my kiddos and help provide for our family.
ReplyDeleteNot only do I love wearing & working LLR, but I feel that same bit of fabulous about myself when in those clothes! You, your attitude & your story are inspirational! I've been working my way into this business since September & my husband & I are trying to start a family. All intentions of being a stay at home mom. We would not be able to afford daycare in my curre t job and have no family to babysit. I will be one of those mom you're speaking of, it's only a matter of time. Thank you sincerely for this moment of positivity in my day!!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this 😊 I'm a 21 year old consultant who has been with LLR for a little over a year who has heard her fair share of negativity about LLR but things like these still give me Butterflies every time! Amazing people like you give us hope! ❤

Thank you so much, Nancy. Finally a positive read amongst the masses of what we've read lately. As a working mom and LuLa consultant, you are so on point! Evenings are spent photographing, labeling, packaging, etc. I try to involve my kids in the process too. My 7 year old daughter named "LuLaRoe Consultant" as one of the things she wants to be when she grows up. Every day is not sunshine and rainbows, but we do it because we love and because of women like you. Thank you. Thank you for taking the time to write this. Thank you for seeing our vision. Thank you for supporting us!!

This ❤️ Thank you !
ReplyDeleteYou have brought tears to my eyes! Spot on, especially about working LLR while my son watches Daniel tiger and hoping I've struck the right balance. I do it all for him and my husband! Thank you so much for your words!
ReplyDeleteYay. Love it. Im a llr rep now since 6/16. And we love our job. I'm trying to email you. Can you give me your email to send over some questions? Ty!
ReplyDeleteAwesome write up!! Th for sharing. Very well said. Can you share you're email with us. I'd love to chat with ya!
ReplyDeleteThank you on behalf of the honest, hard working consultants! LuLaRoe Jess and Michele love selling a product that is honest and trustworthy as well as made with great quality. We stand behind our dream!
ReplyDeleteWow! This was amazing. You nailed it. Its hard enough being a mom, working full time and working a home business full time as well. I'm glad you love your clothes! My number one goal in my business is to make women feel beautiful! Lularoe Sarah Hayden
ReplyDeleteWOW! Thank you so much for this. Working full time outside of the home, being a mom and working full time LLR takes its toll. Its nice to hear women like you who love and appreciate all the hard work. Thank you SO much for this! LuLaRoe Sarah Hayden
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing this! My hubby and I joined while I was pregnant and I am a plus size woman. It is hard to find plus size clothing that is fashionable...maternity is even harder. I was able to wear llr the entirety of my pregnancy. I felt beautiful and I have fallen in love with the business even more. Thank you for such a positive article!
ReplyDeleteI love LLR. I am a customer that is a member of 25-30 groups. After Christmas I had to delete over 200 groups that I was in because it was just too overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteMy first purchase almost (and I reluctantly say almost) made me so angry that I swore I would never purchase anything from LLR again. It had absolutely nothing to do with the clothing. The consultant (who was brand spanking new) charged my credit card twice for the "Randy" shirt that I purchased.
Almost a month later after that was finally straightened out, I kept getting legging loop requests. That's how I ended up in over 300+ groups. (well, that & all of the holiday contests)
I purchased my first pair of leggings & they were above & beyond my expectations. I had heard the "buttery soft" description but in my opinion that description didn't come close to describing how these leggings actually felt when you put them on. I was hooked!
I now own close to 20 LLR pieces of clothing & I love them all.
I did have another negative experience just this past weekend. I got "kicked out" of a group for asking a consultant a question. There's more to it than that, but the way I was treated by the leader of the group was nothing short of rude, mean and condescending.
That's okay though. I still am friends with the consultants that I know & made purchases from out of that group. It still makes me sad though.
On another note, I am disabled (I have one 3 of those illnesses that you cannot see on the outside. Degenerative disc disorder, Seizure disorder, PTSD, Anxiety & depression.) I don't get a huge amount of money each month. I allow myself a certain amount to spend on LLR. I have pretty much stopped shopping anywhere else except for jeans & of course Victoria's Secret, & somewhere for socks.
Thank you to the amazing LLR consultants that really truly care about their customers. God Bless You!
Thank You for this amazing article.
I loved llr pregnant. Irma && Perfect were my go to "maternity shirt" but my body type is straight. No curves. Straight as all hell. So add pregnancy and it was straight, basketball, straight. Irma n perfect made me comfortable (and confident!) along with some leggings.
ReplyDeleteAlmost 4 months pp and still only wearing LLR. Cringe when I have to wear jeans bc it's cold *so I wear leggings underneath!*
I've only had 1 issue with pin holes and the consultant handled it immediately and happily!!
I love all the consultants and want to support THEM. But I do feel like home office isn't being as good to THEM as they should be and are brushing issues off. But I'll still support the friends I've made and wear the clothes I love bc I know I'm helping mommas out!!
Loved reading this! :)
Love this. SO much blasting of the company right now and it's discouraging to those of us who are working hard to make this successful. I"m a wife, mom of 2 school aged kids, work full time, and still do LuLaRoe and as you said, I work way into the night after everyone is off to bed. We all have to make our way in the world, and it's so much better when you have the support of friends AND strangers :) Thank you, thank you, thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing this. As a LuLaRoe consultant, it is wonderful to see some positivity for our products. I, like you, were a lover before I took the leap. My first pair were the now elusive black leggings and my addiction started from there. I wish more people would take a leap of faith and be supportive.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for writing this. My story is alot like yours. After my 3rd baby my body wasnt the same and my self esteem was in the toilet....I went through a few months of depression because I felt ashamed of my body. LuLaRoe made me feel beautiful again! This was my biggest part of my "why", I wanted to help other women feel beautiful too! As a consultant, I can't tell you how much this means to me. I'll admit, it's hard to remember in the midst of negativity that there are lots of people who love LuLaRoe. This just is another reminder, to not only me... but to my fellow consultants, to focus on our thousands of customers who support us instead of focusing on the negative few who don't. Seriously, thank you!
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! Yes! Raising my 6 year old son by myself, working full time as a criminal paralegal for the state and LLR consultant here! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this! My story is alot like yours, after having baby #3 my body just wasn't the same. My self esteem went down the toilet, I hated my body. I found LuLaRoe shortly after my daughter was born and it was a whole new world to me. I started to feel beautiful again. I wanted to help other women feel beautiful too. This is my biggest part of my "why", to help women feel beautiful and empowered! As a consultant, this story means ALOT to me. I'll admit, it's hard sometimes not to get sucked into the negativity and to remember to focus on our thousands of customers who support us instead of focusing on the negative few who don't. Seriously, thank you so much! I needed this today 💖
ReplyDeleteA huge THANK YOU from a mom of 2 in her mid 30s who is a consultant. As I was reading your description of what I do and I laughed because it is totally me. I am sitting here as we speak, writing notes and catching up- and about to photograph inventory as my littlest is watching PBS. :) we are all trying to better our lives and find balance while we do it. Thank you for reminding us all, and sharing with others our true mission.
ReplyDeleteI was in a slightly different place when I started wearing LuLaRoe. I was an empty nester, a nurse...I'd never taken the baby weight off. I hated shopping, hated buying clothes. Terrible fashion sense. One day I went to a pop-up. I was sceptical about these colorful clothes I took home...where was the BLACK!
ReplyDeleteBut, the first time I wore that outfit, I received compliments from 7 different women, strangers and people I knew...even one who doesn't like me. So, I went back and bought more. And more. For the first time since college...and I was 45 when I started wearing it...I felt and looked great in clothes. I'd never worked retail, and I had terrible fashion sense before LuLaRoe, but this nurse STILL somehow ended up a LuLaRoe retailer (I still am a bit blurry on the details, lol).
My only regret? Not doing it sooner. I won't change the minds of others who think it's a scheme, either, but every penny I make is from MY efforts, not someone below me.
Thanks for the shoutout! I'll keep wearing my LuLaRoe, using my RF on my face, my Norwex in my house, and finding other ways to support women.
THIS!!! <3
DeleteTHANK YOU!I'm currently sitting in a diner rewarding myself with breakfast after a long weekend, and this article was exactly what I needed. You're incredibly eloquent and put into words exactly what I've been feeling. Yes,I'm a consultant, but I was raised by a strong, single dad who owned a retail business. I'm so proud of the relationships that I've built because of LLR and the negativity was getting to me. I know this is just a jumble of my conscious stream, but THANK YOU!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing this! I am a newly onboarded consultant and spent most of an online hostess party defending my product and choices of becoming a consultant. Your article is a great pick-me-up! XOXO
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Nancy for writing this! As a consultant I try my hardest to ignore the negativity and just run my business as best as I can! It helps put some of that worry to rest when we have supportive people out there sharing their positive stories! Also, hello from a fellow West Michigander! I grew up in Plainwell, now live over by Detroit! Thanks again, and keep spreading your positive energy!!!!
ReplyDeleteI heart you. That last paragraph got me big time. It is SO hard to work from home and find the right balance. And while I'm still figuring that out, I'm grateful that LLR has enabled me to help support my family WHILE being at home with them. Negativity will always follow greatness, but it's important to remember that greatness will always inspire more greatness! Thank you for taking the time to write this!! XO, Niki
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this! I found LLR shortly before being put on hospital bedrest in my second pregnancy last February and was in the queue to become a consultant before I could even make my first personal purchase. I've struggled a lot with PPD following all the complications with my youngest son and managing returning to work, but I know having LLR has made the struggle so much more manageable. It's hard to ignore the negativity when you know how life-changing these clothes truly are, but reading your blog post gives me (and many other incredible women) that much more fire. ❤
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing this article! My mother and I have been busting our butts since November as LuLaRoe consultants and it was very disheartening to see the negative articles in my newsfeed in the past few days. I love your positivity. Thank you for keeping in mind that we are people- moms just trying to make a living selling the clothes we love. Please let me know how I can subscribe to future articles. I will certainly be sharing this one ❤️️❤️️❤️️
ReplyDeleteThank you. Thank you so much. I started selling LuLaRoe after I had my daughter. She is the light in my eye. My everything. I have worked hard to get where I am now. I thankfully get to leave the job I had hated for so many years and bless women's lives! This was an amazing article. I truly appreciate the time and effort you have put into this!

ReplyDeleteLove this! I've been with LuLaRoe from close to the beginning. I started because we needed extra income for our family but I needed to be home with my kids. LLR has given us so much I can't even describe. But one of my favorite things to hear is how the clothes are changing the lives of customers. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLove this and thank you for sharing. I am a consultant and decided to join because I am pregnant. I was struggling a lot with body image and weight gain and just couldn't enjoy the pregnancy because I never had anything to wear. Now I can enjoy the pregnancy experience because I look good and feel comfortable. Thank you for this!! I am so happy you found consultants that have become friends and that you found a brand to help you feel beautiful and confident. Rock on mama!

AMEN! Thank you! I've never had a problem with any pair of leggings I've worn or sold!
ReplyDeleteYou are wonderful. That is all.
ReplyDeleteI just started with LuLaRoe in November. I have had some success but also alot of negative feedback. This blog is what I needed this morning. ReplyDeletePeople like YOU are why people like US have started small businesses! It's frustrating hearing people talk negatively about the different MLM companies and claiming that they're all "pyramid scams" when they are not. Yes, if you're one of the first thousand adopters you're going to be in that top tier ... but you still have to work your A** off to STAY there. I've actually found that LLR has a much different mentality than any other MLM business I've owned, and this is because it is truly about what you can do for OTHER PEOPLE and not what it does for you. My joy in working with clients (yes, I call my gals clients v. customers because it's about long term relationships and not just a quick sale) to help them find that top, skirt, dress, or whole outfit that makes them look beautiful! LLR has been a true blessing to me in that it fulfills my need to give to others. Does it also give me a nice paycheck? Yes, but that's not the driving force for me. Seeing one of my larger clients break down in tears because she has finally been able to find clothes that fit, and that are comfortable, and stylish, and not insanely expensive ... THAT's what makes my day!
ReplyDeleteLLR is disrupting the fashion industry with the demand, and with that there will be flaws and issues ... but this is such as SMALL percentage of the billions of pieces of clothing that are produced every day. We now just have the internet and Facebook and other ways to try and shame someone (or a company) and show their negative side. I've been letting the negativity roll off my back as I've seen sales and interest drop because you know what, they'll either be back or it gives someone else the opportunity to get that unicorn of theirs <3 Thank you so much for voicing what rolls in my head every day!! XOXOXXOXO
Thank you for writing this! I started selling lularoe almost a year ago after having an Ah-ha! moment myself after years not being able to find well-fitting clothes for my 5'11" frame. The compliments rolled in. I didn't have to panic to go out somewhere. I could express myself through clothing!
ReplyDeleteI found that in doing this, many other women were able to experience the same...thousands in fact.
Such a good decision for me and my family. And so glad I "drank the koolaid."
Love, LuLaRoe Katie Kamradt
I don't have any problems with the clothes (or the oils, or the dish cloths, or the makeup, or the stinky candles, or the lipstick, or the nail polish). The problem is that these companies deliver the promise of huge returns, but in reality it's very hard to make money as a consultant, especially when you look at it from an hourly rate. All that time spent on making your business cards, promoting your online party, buying and making food, buying cute hair ties and jewelry for packages, packing and shipping...In the end, how much are you actually making? And as they become more popular, market saturation happens and you're in competition with your friends and neighbors for a limited customer base. Lots of these comments are praising the clothes, but I want to know, is anyone making significant cash with this? I mean $200+ month over your costs. Warm feelings about throwing a party or the product do not translate into real income. The only ones who make real money are the people who started the company. Women are being sold an idea (you'll make good money) that is incredibly difficult to achieve. Hard work is good, but when your market is narrow and saturated with other distributors, your chances are very slim.
ReplyDeleteI don't disagree with a single thing you've said. I had a feeling that this blog would make the rounds, hence all of the disclaimers :) I know that much of the criticism of MLMs is well founded. I just don't have firsthand knowledge of it aside from my friends who sell everything from LLR to makeup to children's books and are truly enjoying themselves. Supporting our female friends in business isn't just about buying their stuff or hosting a party, it's about continuing to advocate for them and encouraging them to advocate for themselves with the leadership of these companies to ensure full transparency and realistic expectation setting.
DeleteI certainly agree with supporting our female friends, and advocating for females in business. I worry that MLMs actually take advantage of women and their desire to make money while taking care of their kids, especially ones that require you to order a certain amount of product each month to be a distributor. I don't know if LLR specifically does this (I haven't researched it). The real profit for MLMs (or direct marketing as they are now referring to themselves) doesn't come from actual product sales, but from signing up distributors (consultants). It's also kind of funny if we're all buying each other's products--I buy your lip stick and you buy my books--and in the end has anyone made any money? :D But like you said, realistic expectations is key. If you want to get engaged in doing something like this for fun, to get out of the house now and then, to have goals and something to work on, great. But you can't expect to make very much money, if any (only 4% of people who sign up for MLMs make any money at all, that means even $1). Sorry to hijack your blog. Full disclosure: I'm Mormon, and MLMs are extremely popular with Mormons, so I've been hit up for all the Amway, suitcases, knives, magic juices, supplements, makeup, magic cocoa, etc etc all my life. It's a personal pet peeve of mine.
DeleteI'm gonna need more information on magic cocoa... ;) You're so spot on, there's not way to talk about appreciation for these product without addressing the potential elephant in in the room which is, how informed are people before signing up? I know my friends feel strongly that they knew what they were getting into and have found a good stride, but I know it's totally naive to think that applies to everyone who is selling for these companies! In business it's said that a company has as many cultures as it has managers and I believe that's true for these companies as well. Many upline leaders are supportive and encouraging and transparent and some are undoubtedly out for themselves. That's probably true for any company that employs so many people, but the difference is that I didn't have to pay anything to get hired into my company. I just really need the women who are already in the swing of these businesses to know that I support them all the way, whether that's by buying the eye cream or just being a listening ear when it all gets to be too much! My mom was definitely a hobbyist just trying to get out of the house and interact with other women. She absolutely loved it and 30 years later she's a successful executive at her company. You didn't hijack anything, this is an important conversation!
DeleteEvidnetly I'm not savvy enough to enter my name or pic here - forgive me: sleep AND caffeine-deprived lol! That said, I can only speak to my experience. I am an LLR consultant, and I have 2 business partners (my mom and sister), so our profits are split 3-ways. We each have other commitments that keep us busy full-time (work, running other businesses, raising kids), so we don't sell nearly as much as a lot of other people do, but we do still take home profit. The amount I've been able to contribute to our household's income has been a significant blessing in our lives. We do have a small growing team beneath us, but that's not where the bulk of our money comes from, and I know plenty of women who do not have any recruits/team members/whatever you want to call them - they're simply selling product. So sure, there are likely some other companies that depend on those structures for income, but we do not. Furthermore, the company stresses to us to remember that we cannot guarantee what another person will make and therefore need to be very cautious about sharing numbers/dollar amounts. I get out of this what I put into it. As for saturation, I hosted an event this weekend that involved TWENTY LuLaRoe consultants under one roof with our products, and I experienced record sales. Pretty phenomenal if you ask me!
DeleteThank you so much for sharing this, especially now with all the negativity. This is exactly how I found and why I needed Lularoe after having my daughter in 2015. I am so excited to be a part of something that changes the way women feel about themselves, something that makes a difference in their journey whether you're a new mom or just needing a boost in self esteem. It really makes the difference!
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing this!! I strive to keep my customers happy, new friends and old, with the best service ever!! LuLaRoe Goddess is my business and I have fun with it but do run it as a serious business. MLM have such a bad wrap, but people don't realize that there are tons of businesses like this that aren't listed as a MLM.
ReplyDeleteKeeping spreading the positive word!!
Sending lots of love,
Katie from Lularoe Goddess
Thank you so much for writing this!! Customer service is very important to me. New friends or old, I strive to make their shopping with my business Lularoe Goddess the best it can be!! I have fun with my business but take it serious. MLM or not, I run this as my business. So many other non MLM have similar setups with referrals bonuses or compensation for each client. I try not to have this negativity affect me!! I just keep trucking the best way I can!!
ReplyDeleteSending much love!
Katie from Lularoe Goddess
Thank you so much for writing this!! I have family members asking me how my business is, but their tone indicates they're hoping to hear that I'm failing. Overcoming the negativity and "getting out of my own way" are things that I struggle with, so thank you for this positive reassurance and love!!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, I can so relate!!! I have friends and family ask me that all the time, and you can tell by their tone, or look, that they are expecting to hear that it's not going well. I just smile, say that it's going GREAT, and keep pushing through!! "Getting out of my own way" is also one of my hurtles. We've got this, girl! *high five*
DeleteThank you so much for writing this!!! I have family members ask how my business is going, but their tone indicates they're hoping I'll say I'm failing. Battling the negativity and "staying out of my own way" are my two biggest struggles right now. I would always make excuses for myself, but a few weeks ago I decided I wasn't doing that any more! I just finished off 3 pop ups in 3 days with my 2 month old in tow. It was hard, and I'm exhausted, but I have never felt better about this business and what I can accomplish, even with a nursing baby attached to me! Much love to you ❤❤
ReplyDeleteThank you soo much for all the positivity! I'm a new consultant with a full time job & family, it definitely takes work but I love it! All anyone needs is a little love & encouragement, it goes a long way
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you will get to read this far but thank you. From the bottom of my heart. This article made me cry. Thank you for lifting up others.
ReplyDelete(hug)
DeleteAs a Thirty-One consultant, this post is spot-on! Keep doing your thing LLR ladies, and everyone else who has found some happiness with the product you're selling...or buying! ❤️
ReplyDeleteAs a Thirty-One consultant...this was spot on! Keep doing your thing LLR ladies, and everyone one who is finding happiness in what you are selling...or buying! ❤️
ReplyDeleteThank you :) you reminded me why I am doing this and not to focus on all the negative. I really love this!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great article. I am a recent LLR addict- got my 1st Irma & pair of leggings in December!- and was convinced to do it by a friend who runs dog agility. While I am not a mother, I am a 61 year old overweight dog sport participant who wishes she was in as good a shape as her canine partner is ( age 12, Australian Shepherd). I am still way too self conscious to wear my leggings without something like pants over them, but I did work up the courage to wear a Nicole & Sarah into the conformation ring in January, and to wear a different Nicole to Christmas dinner at my husband's families. My husband is amused at the fact that at age 61, I am re-inventing my wardrobe, but supports me, only asking that I slow the pace down a little so we can pay off the plastic again. I wish that LulaRoe would come up with something like a pair of shorts, maybe knee length, or regular shorts, that I could wear so I can go out in public in my leggings! But I love all of the 40+ pieces I have purchased from my two favorite consultants. They have helped me clean my closet out & are helping me feel more confident, in spite of my weight problems. Hope you all have a great day!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I support you and every other woman making it work, however that may be. If you sell LLR, if you work part time at McD's, if you work second shift to make your daycare needs a little easier, if you just work a regular old 9-5. DO YOU LADIES!! DO YOU and support those who are doing the same.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this! I am a LLR consultant and I LOVE it. But, the negativity about it does get to me sometimes. I sooooo needed this today.... you rock!
ReplyDeleteOMG! Thank you so much for posting this!! I have been selling for around 18 months and it's so fun! All the things you said about how and why some of us do this echoes true for me!!! You look amazing in your LuLaRoe! Keep up the hard work lady!
ReplyDeleteI want applaud you wonderfully written statement!!! I am amazed how critical people are that have not ever needed to make extra money as I have raising three children! I have sold almost every kind of thing you can imagine in the evening or on weekends besides a full-time job and it always has help me to rise above any little circumstance I may encounter!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, thank you!!! As I wipe the tears away from my eyes, thank you to all of you who support our businesses and love this clothing!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you! Thank you for your words of support and encouragement! THIS is what we as women all need to embrace--building each other up!
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent supportive post. I appreciate your words of encouragement for LLR consultants and LLR clothing. I'm 61, pear shaped and I'm enjoying having some fun LLR colors and styles in my closet also. My daughter is a LLR consultant in Michigan and she strives to provide the best styles and customer service possible. On a side note, I own a set of those crystal princess house mugs and some of their cookware bought from someone just like your mom, decades ago. And I still love it. Thanks again for your post.
ReplyDeleteI am a LuLaRoe consultant, and I keep coming back and reading this throughout the day. You have articulated things that I feel better than I have been able to articulate them! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am a lularoe consultant, a newer one, and sometimes it's hard frustrating trying to build a bussiness with the negativity. I do my best to bless each and everyone of my customers...fix all the problems that arise and still have fun doing this.
ReplyDeleteThank you and well said ! From a fellow consultant.
ReplyDeleteThank you for posting this, very well said !!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this. You have no idea how much it helped me to read this.. right now.. today. I needed it immensely. I am a Lularoe consultant. For once in my life I love my job.. I love the company, the product, the sisterhood and my customers. This brought tears to my eyes because it does get hard defending something you're truly passionate about on a daily basis. I for one stand behind this company and the product I sell. Thank you again.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved this. These stories of women finding their spark again (or for the first time!) through LuLaRoe is exactly why I love doing what I do. Thank you for your kind words!
ReplyDeleteI've literally got tears in my eyes because after days of being barraged with the negative articles on my news feed and even in my own events, I needed to see the love from a customer (we consultants already know the products great and how empowering it is to have a wahm option). Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI'm a consultant so of course thank you. This was beautiful. I also wanted to say we have those same Princess House Cups and I've had them forever so kudos to Princess House on a quality product & thank you for sharing your admiration of your dear Mom.
ReplyDeleteI could literally KISS you!!! The whole reason I got into LuLaRoe as a customer was because of how they made me feel. I finally have a way to express myself with my clothes AND be comfortable at the same time. The reason I became a consultant is wanting to share this AmAzInG feeling with every other woman that I meet, literally, I just want to give you some free leggings. Fashion doesn't have to be hard or painful and you can do what you need to do while wearing it whether it be working in an office, working from home, being a SAHM or all of the above. Ladies you are all GORGEOUS, AMAZING, and you deserve to be COMPLIMENTED non-stop by perfect strangers because they LOVE what you are wearing. Go forth and be KIND to each other!
ReplyDeleteThank you for a POSITIVE article...media LOVES negativity and drama...that's what sells. People loving something and feeling good about themselves...sadly that doesn't sell. Thank you again!
ReplyDeleteThis made me cry all the good tears - thank you!! 💕
ReplyDeleteThis made me cry all the good tears - thank you!! 💕
ReplyDeleteThank u so very much for this!!! I am a consultant and have loved every second of this journey! I absolutely adore my customers and making them feel the way u do! That's what this company is all about! Stengthing families and making women of all shapes and sizes feel beautiful and get their confidence back! ❤❤
ReplyDeleteYou, lovely fabulous intelligent witty creative superwoman are my freaking hero!
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing this, bawling my eyes out because as a consultant, this all rings SO true. I'm constantly working and tweaking things late at night and while the kids are watching Daniel tiger hoping I'm finding balance. Ladies - let your light shine, it deserves to be shown in its brilliance!
ReplyDeleteThank you for writing this. Bawling my eyes out over here. Being a mom and finding balance while owning a business is difficult at times but I wouldn't change it. I need this in my life - it's something just for me and my business partner. We give all day to our family and then we get to have something in this beautiful life! Let your light shine ladies - you deserve it!
ReplyDeleteI love your article! My mom also sold Princess House! For 30+ years actually! And I always knew I wanted to be home with my kids as she had been for my brother and I. I was in a mom rut and found LuLaRoe. I've now been a consultant for almost a year and am loving it! Thank you for the supper! P.S. My birthday is also March 12!!
ReplyDeleteI love your article! My mom sold Princess House too and for 30+ years actually! I always knew I wanted to stay home with my kids as she had with my brother and I. I fell in love with LuLaRoe, as many of us did, while trying to find myself again after having kids. Now I've been selling LuLaRoe for almost a year now and love it! P.S. My birthday is also March 12!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this post. I'm a Lularoe consultant and it warms my heart to know that you support us and our vision. A lot of us are stay at home moms and working moms. This business is not easy and at times you feel like giving up buts it posts like this from our beautiful customers that show how much this brand has changed them, strengthen them and brought back their confidence. You get it and I'm so grateful for that :) thank you again from the bottom of hearts for supporting our small businesses. We are blessing lives and strengthing families through our interactions with so many women and their families. It's literally life changing 💕
ReplyDeleteYou're the bees knees, girlfriend. Thank you so much for your support and kind words! Karma is a thing girl, and you've got good stuff coming your way!❤️❤️
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome article. Thank you for writing it. I am not a consultant but a consumer, an addicted consumer. Yes, I drank the colorful koolaid. Lol. I love the lularoe line of clothing. The only thing that makes me sad is that it was not around when I was a young Mom and would have absolutely loved being a consultant. Truth be known I am an undercover consultant. I tell all my freinds about it And make sure to support all the consulatnts in my area. Unfortunately because of chronic health issues, I am not up to the challenge and work it takes to be a consultant. But boy I would have been a generous and fun one.. To get my selling and enthusuasm fix I help a friend whenever she needs help with her parties. Just being their encouraging the ladies who are shopping and helping them find the right colors and styles fills me with such joy. And yes she usually offers me a pair of buttery leggings for helping. I too love looking in my closet at the array of colors and styles aNd look forward to the matches I will put together. It really satisfies my artistic side. I do have to admit that I do try to get to the mailbox before my husband does and it doesnt exactly hurt that I have a huge tote bag as a purse for which to hide my new goodies. However any lularoe hesitation on his part falls apart when I come downstairs dressed in a cute Nicole. He is always quick to say how good I look, so even he cannot deny the luka look.
ReplyDeleteSo thank you again for writing a fun and thoughtful article supporting the many women and some brave men who work hard to support their families and bring a lot of fun and color into our occasionally mundane lives. And dont we all deserve a little fun.
Thank you so very much. I found LuLaRoe as a means to help pull me out of a deep depression after my husband's death, and I fell so much in love with it I became a consultant. It's a lot of hard work, but SO worth it when I get feedback about how beautiful and confident it made someone feel. This is so much more than selling clothes - it's about helping women feel empowered ❤
ReplyDeleteFran! I bought an orange paisley Sarah cardigan from you! You are officially one of my "ladies"!
DeleteThank you for writing this! As an consultant, your mom's story is part of my "why". I have been a stay at home mom for years, and I needed something for myself. Lularoe gave me a purpose. My "why" is also your story. I cannot put into words the way I feel when women tell me how beautiful they feel when wearing something they purchased from me. I have come across so many women who are thankful for the fact that they can actually find something that fits them. Lularoe has also changed the way I feel about myself. I enjoy getting dressed now. Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this. Love a LuLaRoe retailer.❤
ReplyDeleteThank you for this support.💕
ReplyDeleteI am a consultant. Thanks for writing this. I know there are more people out there like you, but it is the bad seeds that come out shinning like a star. I hope this reaches the News stations like the other article and they get the Truth be hide the Clothes.
ReplyDeleteWhile I can't identify with the post baby part of this... I do identify with a lot of it. My husband and I have been trying to have a baby for suite some time now.. with no luck. I had gained some weight and wanted clothes that fit since none of my jeans fit anymore. I am now 15 pounds down (halfway to where I want to be) And optimistic that the weight loss will help us get our little miracle baby... and looking forward to having clothes that still fit great throughout my (hopeful) pregnancy and afterwards. I have met so many wonderful consultants who are now praying for me and my husband. So many beautiful souls along the way. I am thankful for lularoe.
ReplyDeleteThank you thank you, we appreciate the support. I completely have to agree,
ReplyDeleteI found the clothing after a very hard time last year. I had a baby 3 1/2 years ago and NOTHING made me feel more beautiful and confident, than LuLaRoe clothing. It brought me out of feeling sorry for myself and like all my clothes were tight and small. You're absolutely right about getting compliments in public. It's a boost of confidence that was much needed. I am a consultant now and have a partner...we love what we do and will continue to do it. United we stand LuLaArmy girl bosses
Thank you for the support and the positive words. As a single mom working full time and doing Lularoe on the side to provide for my daughter, I appreciate the support and encouragement.
ReplyDeleteI could just hug you. I fell in love with LLR for all of the same reasons you did. FINALLY clothes that fit my body they way clothes were meant to fit. And they felt good. Sometimes it almost feels like cheating when I "dress up" in my Carly or Julia and it's not totally uncomfortable. The company itself and the culture of blessing lives is beyond amazing. I took the leap of faith to become a consultant and it's hands down the best decision I've ever made. Seeing a woman's "Cinderalla" moment when she tries it for the first time is worth all of the late nights invoicing and packaging. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are so right!! That Cinderella moment is pretty awesome! I have cried many happy tears in the past few months when I see that beaming smile on a customer's face who would have never tried on a style and comes out looking and feeling amazing!
DeleteI want to Thank You and all those that have commented with the positive comments. As a newer consultant with LLR, the negativity can certainly put someone like myself on quite a rollercoaster. We all have our, "Why". My "Why" to begin this journey came from leaving a job 4 years ago that made me feel like I was in prison everyday. Losing weight over the past year saved me money with clothing that still fit and made me feel awesome! I wanted to make sure that women of all sizes knew that they are Beautiful! I am out meeting and socializing again. I work hard selling in person and online for this reason! I LOVE what I do!! I thank you for bringing the consultant to the forefront. People bash the product and the company all over the internet from behind a keyboard. There are real women behind every hardworking minute of this business. Photographing, posting, packing it all up and hauling it all back home. We do it because we love it! Like everything else in life, if it is not for you than just move on. Don't try to take someone you don't know down. Have a Beautiful Day!!
ReplyDeleteWoohoo! Nicely put! Thank you!! For many of us it's not even about the extra cash. It's about the strength we are receiving and giving to women all over the place! I have a normal full time job as well as LuLaRoe and mommy duties too. LuLaRoe is Fun and I can't even begin to explain how many new awesome relationships with amazing women I have forged! For me LuLaRoe is my way of saying "Go girl!! You got this!!!", no matter what your "this" may be. :)
ReplyDeletei was sent a pair of Tall and Curvy leggings and they did not fit. I am a 3x and a 20. I don't know that it's accurate to say you go up to 3xl when i was told there were only 2 sizes of LLR leggings. Perhaps I have been misinformed by the person who sent me these leggings to try. I would appreciate more information if what I have been told is incorrect. Please email me at hopeyheartbear@yahoo.com. I would really appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteHello! I'm not sure if you're aware, but LuLaRoe offers 5 (five) sizes of leggings. S/M; L/XL; Tween; OneSize; Tall&Curvy. They are listed in size order. (The XXS-3XL refers to certain dress, skirt, and top styles)
DeleteTall&Curvy or TC is meant to fit sizes 12-20. If the leggings are cut small (which has happened), consultants can't know unless they put them on...eww Please refer back to the consultant who sold the item to you, and please ONLY if it is within her return policy period or you have already contacted her. If it is within the proper time frame, contact the consultant, and she will discuss the next step with you. I hope this was helpful
Have an awesome night!
I am at the other end of the reproductive spectrum--hysterectomy for me at the end of the month. I have been reading about the "belly bloat" that can occur after the surgery. But I am relieved to know that my LuLaRoe leggings, Carlys and other pieces will keep me feeling and looking great while I recover.
ReplyDeleteOh! I laughed! I cried ! I nearly peed my pants (oh - not because of your blog, that's just me @ 46,lol), and then I laughed and cried some more..And my upline was right about you and your article. You are so uplifting and positive and I'm SO happy that you found a way to feel comfy going back to work.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for writing this and supporting women owned businesses
Bravo! You put it into a clear, concise, honest perspective.
ReplyDeleteThis. Everything about this. Thank you! I got slightly choked up as I read this. Not because of your praise for the company that I represent, but because I too am a mother battling that post partum weight. Reading about the confidence you have from these clothes makes me so happy & it's reasons like these that make me love my job. So thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteI can relate to everything you wrote! After having my daughter, I felt fat and unattractive and Lularoe helped pull me out of that (well along with my hubby - gotta give him some credit lol). I loved the clothes so much that I am now waiting in the queue to become a consultant! I am also one of your "pear-shaped sisters" (woo woo!) and have a hard time finding clothes bc of it. So any clothing line that flatters my hips/butt gets my stamp of approval! And don't even get me started on all the fun, funky prints......
ReplyDeleteGreat article. Most everything in my wardrobe is LLR. Since I purchased my first piece over a year ago I have lost 50 lbs. but most of the clothes still fit. My TC leggings are getting a little baggy so I'm now replacing them with new OS! I love to dress in colorful clothes and be comfortable at the same time. When I show up for work people stop by my office to say hello and to see what I'm wearing. What a way to start my day.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for writing this. I am a consultant with Usborne Books & More and your last paragraph about wondering if she's found the perfect balance is exactly right. You speak to so many of us so thank you for sharing!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your sweet article! I'm a LuLaRoe consultant to help make ends meet for my husband and I. I also became a consultant to have an income for when I'm no longer working 2 jobs and can be a stay at home mom ❤ there are lots of women who feel passionately about the clothes and love making other women feel confident when they wear it, and I love that! Be blessed
ReplyDeleteDeana S.
Thank you so very much for this great article! I found LLR just a few months ago and have gone LLR crazy! I am recovering from cancer treatment, my size 22W clothes were hanging off my body, but I had been to the store buying new clothes only to find that a month or 2 later the new clothes no longer fit either and it was always time to go shopping. I have never worn leggings but received a pair of leggings as a Christmas gift and they looked nice, were comfortable, and still fit as time passed. So when invited to a LulaRoe event, I was excited to attend. I had a great time and spent so much money! (Thank you Fredericksburg, VA consultants!) My clothes now look fabulous as I go about sporting my new LLR outfits. I'm now a size 8 so you can imagine the clothing frustrations! Now my frustrations only encompass what size to buy in LLR styles and I look forward to connecting with consultants in my area (Sterling, VA). I'm going to another multi-consultant live event this weekend and can hardly wait! And yes, I'm a closet promoter, too. I've told everyone I know about the sale and invited them all to join me. I plan to be there when they open and hope they won't be too upset with me when they have to keep reminding me the sale is over. I've bought from many consultants and every one of them has been happy in their job. I only wish I had the energy and funding to become one of them. Happy unicorn hunting!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a wonderful post! I am the proud husband of a LuLaRoe retailer and this definitely had me with a tear in my eye. Like anyone would, I had my doubts about the legitimacy of the company when she first started selling, but I have grown to adore the company, the people who are apart of it, and the people who run it! Thank you so much for being a rose amongst thorns!
ReplyDeleteTruly enjoyed your post. My daughter is a LLR rep and as a stay-at-home mom (who worked in the corporate world before she was blessed with a 5 year old and a set of twins who will be 2 in April -- all boys), she is loving life as a stay-at-home mom and almost full-time LuLaRoe rep. And -- I am loving the LuLaRoe clothes that I'm able to purchase from her and everyone in her downline. Keep the good thoughts coming. Add me to the promoter list!
ReplyDeleteThank you! I am a PEAR SISTER!
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness... this is amazing! I am not a mom. I am a plus size girl who got sick of the 2 stores I could shop at for trendy clothes... LLR makes me feel beautiful and confident. LLR has also brought a lot of positive women in my life. Surround yourself with encouragement?! heck yes! do all of the LLR styles work for my body, no (I really wish Irma liked me), but I have found many that do. Sarah, Carly, and leggings have been my go to this winter and I can't wait to bust out my cassie collection in the spring. Pencil skirt and plus size you say?... TOTALLY!!! appreciate your article and will continue to share the lula love... <3
ReplyDeleteI have some cute BNWT Cassies! Want them? 😊
DeleteYes! All of this! This is why I became a consultant. I'm plus sized, but recognize that you don't have to be "plus sized" to have insecurities or have problems finding clothes that fit just right and make you feel good! I love LuLaRoe for the respect it shows to women by creating clothing that empowers women and their families, provides an income opportunity for women to better their lives while offering flexibility to live the life they want. I love LuLaRoe. Thank you for writing this article!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, Nancy! I LOVE the way you captured the hearts of so many of us work-from-home moms! I LOVE the way you express yourself. Feels like you reached into my heart and wrote it all down for me! I use and sell Plexus natural products for health and wellness. They have been life changing for me. I would LOVE to help you and others who are dealing with any health issues or are trying to be in the best health possible for you with these products. Message me if you're interested. I wish you WELL!!!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU for this, Nancy! You have captured the hearts of us work-from-home moms SO well! Feels like you reached into my heart and wrote this all for me! I love, love, LOVE my products! They have been life changing for me and so, yes, I share them with passion....because I want everyone to feel as good as I do now! I would love to help you and others who are dealing with any health issues with your needs. Plexus has changed everything for me! Just message me if I can be of help to you. THANKS again for this!
ReplyDeleteMaybe it's my frequently worn rose colored glasses or maybe that I just live in a bubble, who knows :D, but I am unaware of the negativity directed towards LLR recently. And I'm cool with that!
ReplyDeleteWhat I do know, though, is how much I appreciate your post. You spoke to a part of this story that doesn't get talked about much. About women hustling hard not only for their families, but for themselves. My mom was also a SAHM in the 80's and did things like Tupperware, Mary Kay, and cleaned houses to help supplement our income. She taught me so many things through her example that I'm sure she wasn't even aware she was doing. What I understand now being a mom myself, is that she undoubtedly did those jobs not just for us, but for her too. Being a parent is so very important, but to feel truly fulfilled it is important to find a purpose outside of parenthood as well. I struggle with self-doubt that what I'm doing is not life changing and that I'm only selling clothes. But then I read an article like this, or I see that shine in a women's eye when she comes out of the dressing room feeling gorgeous after not feeling that in a long time. It reminds me that what we are doing is important. We're not just a clothes company, we are challenging what fashion is. It is no longer the high fashion, waif thin, stone cold looks on models faces. It is feeling comfortable in your own skin, wearing clothes that make you just feel good, practically glowing, in a style all your own, whether that is subtle or loud. I'm so proud to be a part of this company, and I appreciate little reminders such as this one as to why I chose to be a part of this amazing, terrifying, overwhelming, exciting journey!
